When did you last “recharge”?

Like your phone, if you are not recharging daily, at some point you are going to go flat.

Unlike your phone, going flat for you could well mean falling sick, stress, burnout. It may also mean impact on your relationships, and your ability to do the great things you are absolutely capable off.

So when was the last time you recharged? I don't mean sleep - that is resting which is also important. I mean recharging your batteries, filling your cup, powering your soul (ok, I made that one up).

On my signature programme Revitalise we have a whole module on recharge. At the beginning there are objections, with the main one being "I don't have time"

I ask them to fill in a time diary, mapping out everything they do in a week.

I work with professional women, so yes, they have a lot to do, But even they are surprised at the pockets of time they do have, and how they end up filling them with scrolling on the phone or binge watching netflix

Here are 2 things that make a difference.

1. Assess where your pockets of time are:
* In between clients? (5 mins?)
* Waiting for the kids? (10 mins?)
* In the evening after dinner (20 mins)

2. Create a self-care menu for these pockets of time - that way you don't have to think of what to do - just pick from the menu:
* 5 mins - do some stretches or jump on the spot
* 10 mins - close your eyes and be still. Concentrate on your breathing, and quiet down your mind
* 20 mins - sit down with a cup of tea (or other beverage of your choice!) and journal. These will get all of the thoughts that are clogging up your mind out.
